From what Activision has shown so far of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however, Farah has not been seen or even referenced. This entry’s campaign will be focused around Task Force 141, consisting of Captain Price, Simon “Ghost” Riley, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, John “Soap” MacTavish, and the newcomer to the franchise, Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the Mexican Special Forces. With this being the next step in the series and introducing players to more brand-new characters, Farah’s story and character arc is danger of being abandoned entirely....

Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the latest installment in Activision’s first-person shooter franchise, Call of Duty. Modern Warfare 2 was first released to Early Access with just the single-player campaign, in which players take on terrorists and the cartel on the southern border of the United States as part of Task Force 141. Soon after, the multiplayer experience was added with the official launch of the game in late October....

One of the smaller issues fans have spotted after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Beta revolves around the game’s Invasion mode. One of the new additions in this year’s CoD, Invasion sees two teams of 20 players face off on a pretty huge map. Players are able to use tanks, boats, and helicopters, as well as a range of killstreaks that are dropped at certain intervals. With the addition of enemy AI, there’s always a lot going on in this mode, and that chaos often leads to quick deaths....

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare playlists are headlined by Faceoff, which is a moshpit that adds traditional multiplayer match types to 3v3 Gunfight maps. This will include match types like Hardpoint and Grind, with the new Season 5 Gunfight map Livestock being featured in the rotation. Ghost is most known for Modern Warfare 2, but also is available as a skin for the newer Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A Ghost skin was added and even a small change to his look in Modern Warfare got some mixed feedback. The only difference is that the updated character has a more solid skull mask instead of the balaclava, which some fans found to be not as practical for military actions....

Activision is calling this first tournament a beta, though the rules are largely the same as the Gunfight mode itself where its 2v2, one life, and a randomly assigned loadout on spawn. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare Gunfight Tournament beta is a 32 player, single elimination event with 16 teams and 8 rounds in total. Each win advances a team further, while a loss dumps both players back into the lobby....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 will add at least four new maps, though it’s unclear if these new maps will all be added on February 11 or if they will be released throughout the season. The maps included are the previously leaked Modern Warfare 2 map Rust, a Walmart-like 6v6 map called Atlas Superstore, a new Gunfight map called Bazaar, and a new Ground War map called Zhokov Boneyard....

Call of Duty: Vanguard fans have taken issue with several flame-related items, with the Incendiary Grenade quickly becoming the most despised piece of equipment in the game. This Lethal equipment piece was added as part of Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1, and it can be unlocked by reaching tier 39 in the Battle Pass. A hybrid grenade, Incendiaries manage to function like a cross between Smoke Grenades and Molotovs, dealing damage while obscuring an area at the same time....

This Call of Duty: Vanguard exploit involves players loading into a game of Zombies for about 2 minutes before exiting the game and repeating until they are satisfied with the amount of XP they have received. This is due to the fact that zombies in the starting spawn and a player’s first Transmit Portal offer more XP than other zombies. A recent Call of Duty post revealed the descriptions of new content arriving in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for Season 3. Similarly to how Apex Legends surprise-launched in 2019 to rave reviews, Call of Duty: Warzone has come out of nowhere and taken the battle royale genre by storm. Warzone’s player population continues to grow exponentially each week, with the game being a top choice for streamers, fans of the genre, and even Call of Duty enthusiasts who haven’t been terribly interested in battle royales before. Warzone is far from the first time that the Call of Duty franchise has attempted a battle royale, but it’s easily its most successful attempt yet....

Xbox One owners should take note, as Call of Duty: WW2 is now available to pre-load on the console. Not only that, but it comes with a less-than-hefty download size, at least in comparison to some other recent games. The upcoming latest release in the Call of Duty franchise racks in at a somewhat sizeable 45.14 GB, although that’s relatively streamlined when compared to what some other games require....

Dubbed The Days of Summer, the event will start today and run through August 28th. It will add new experiences and collectibles for Call of Duty: WW2, like game modes, weapon, and cosmetic items. There will even be a new community challenge, along with some new enemy types in the Zombies mode. One of the more interesting additions will be the Sandbox mode. For those who remember the old Army Men game series, which had you play as the titular tiny plastic toys, this will be somewhat similar....

Lots of information about the franchise was revealed during the recent Call of Duty Next event, letting fans know that remainder of the year will be packed with content. Following the release of Modern Warfare 2 in October, gamers can also expect Warzone 2.0 in November. The open beta for Modern Warfare 2 began on September 16 for PlayStation players who have pre-ordered, and it will open up to all platforms on September 24....

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s 2v2 Gunfight mode, players compete in what are initially 40 second rounds, with the goal being to eliminate the other team. If 40 seconds go by and the teams are still alive, a flag will spawn in the middle of the map and the new goal is to defend that flag. If the time runs out again and there is still no winner, then the team with the most health wins (there is none of Call of Duty’s signature health regeneration in Gunfight)....

In fact, with the arrival of Season 3 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision took a moment in a new press release to reveal some of the surprising and impressive stats regarding Warzone. Since the game launched, and with the boost from Warzone, Modern Warfare players have already logged 2.4 billion hours online combined between multiplayer and the battle royale. It’s a staggering number that is no doubt only going to climb following the launch of season 3....

As announced by the official Call of Duty Twitter account, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting two new maps on Friday, November 8 in the form of Shoot House and Krovnik Farmland. Shoot House will reportedly be a standard multiplayer map, whereas Krovnik Farmland will be a Ground War map. This contradicts a recent Modern Warfare datamine leak, which claimed that Krovnik Farmland would be a standard multiplayer map and Shoot House would be for the 2v2 Gunfight mode....

This morning, Infinity Ward released a new trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The trailer focused on multiplayer gameplay and detailed a few of the new modes and features. Season 5 of MW and Warzone came with another large update, and with it came new maps, fresh guns, game changes, and the season’s pass. But wasn’t mentioned in any sort of patch notes, was a possible MP5 change, leaving some furious.
