Gulag specators in Warzone can completely change the tide of the fight, especially if one of their rocks happen to hit an explosive device. That’s exactly what happened to Reddit user GotVengeance, who threw a rock at a mine that one of the Gulag fighters placed on the ground. The resulting explosion killed both fighters, denying both of them the opportunity to respawn and rejoin the match.

Similar clips can be found online, showing that GotVengeance is far from the only Warzone player to manage such a lucky throw. Other clips also show how different explosive devices can also be destroyed with rocks in the Gulag, like the viral clip of a Gulag player being blown up by a claymore after a spectator hit it with a rock. Players can use this to give their teammates an advantage when they’re fighting in the Gulag, or as shown in GotVengeance’s clip, they can also use it to simply screw over both players who are trying to win the fight.
The 1v1 Gulag respawn system in Call of Duty: Warzone has definitely proven to be one of the game’s most popular battle royale innovations, but it’s also earn some praise for the way it handles loot. Unlike most other battle royale games on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone does not put much emphasis on inventory management or customizing weapons. Instead players will find weapons that have already been decked out with attachments, and the only healing item to speak of are the armor plates that players can use to reinforce their defenses.
While it seems most Warzone players like the game’s loot system, there are those who have spoken out against it. This includes popular streamer Ninja, who has said that Warzone’s loadout system, wherein players can get multiple fully-customized weapons at one time, is one of the worst parts about Warzone.
Infinity Ward will tweak Warzone based on player feedback, but it will be interesting to see if it makes changes to loadouts or the loot system. It’s unlikely to disable Gulag spectators being able to blow up explosives, though, as they were clearly given rocks to throw for a reason.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
