However, the massively popular battle royale has also been branching out to incorporate other popular franchises through the game’s online store. Almost a year ago saw John Rambo and John McClane get added during Warzone’s 80s Action Heroes limited time event. Another Sylvester Stallone character in Judge Dredd followed suit a few months later, and just recently, players could add skins and items based on the hit anime, Attack on Titan.

Over the past few weeks, Activision has been teasing another upcoming crossover, this time with two larger than life characters. The season 3 trailer teased an appearance by the King of Monsters itself, Godzilla. However, the latest tease comes from the Call of Duty Twitter account where a 40 second clip of two pilots attempting to identify an unknown creature moving through the Caldera map. The pilots identify a huge set of bones before being beset by an even bigger creature.
While the video nor the “Something big is coming to Caldera…” message clearly indicate King Kong, the roar heard at the end has seemingly given fans a big clue. The video also showed off a part of Caldera that resembles something akin to Skull Island, home of King Kong. All of these teases have sent the community into a frenzy of speculation, with many agreeing that Call of Duty could be tapping into a Monsterverse for Warzone Season 3, though with nothing official yet, fans will need to wait until the new season is officially unveiled.
If King Kong isn’t enough, Activision recently revealed a new collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg that will add his likeness to Warzone. With Snoop already in Call of Duty: Mobile, his Warzone appearance comes inside of the Tracer Pack: Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle, which will run players 2400 CoD Points, or around $20. In addition to his Operator progression path, challenges, and character skin, the bundle comes with three legendary blueprints with green tracer rounds, special effects, weapon charm, finishing move, emblem, spray, intro, and MVP animation.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
