Call of Duty: Warzone has removed the Armored Trucks from Solos as of the latest update. According to Hodge, the purpose of this is to tone down the “vehicle meta” that is currently dominating the game. For the uninitiated, many players in Call of Duty: Warzone have started using Armored Trucks almost exclusively, as they are notoriously overpowered and can guarantee some easy kills in the battle royale.

One reason why Armored Trucks were only removed from Warzone Solos may have to do with loadout drops. Call of Duty: Warzone loadout drops cost $10,000 no matter which mode is being played, which is an amount of in-game cash that’s much harder to come by for solo players. This means that those playing Warzone Solos won’t as easily be able to get their hands on the specific weapons that can counter the Armored Trucks, like rocket launchers.

Other Call of Duty: Warzone vehicles remain in Solos, so players can still use helicopters, ATVs, and more, they just no longer have an Armored Truck at their disposal. And considering how controversial Armored Trucks have been in Call of Duty: Warzone so far, it will be interesting to see if Infinity Ward and Raven Software ultimately decide to remove them from other battle royale playlists, or at least make less of them spawn on the map.

In future, it’s possible Call of Duty: Warzone will receive more updates with the goal of better-balancing vehicles in the game. Warzone receives weekly updates after all, and the developers are constantly tweaking things to make the game more balanced.

Of course, Call of Duty: Warzone fans have a lot more to look forward to in the battle royale than just balance changes. As the Warzone Season 3 road map shows, new weapons are on the way as well, and more information on that front should be made available in the coming weeks.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
