While some Call of Duty: Warzone players actually enjoyed Scopes and Scatter Guns, otherwise were annoyed that they couldn’t get the standard battle royale experience in Trios anymore. Others still simply would like the option to choose between playing Scopes and Scatter Guns or standard Trios, with many fans upset that Infinity Ward added the LTM while simultaneously removing Trios.

In response to the backlash, Infinity Ward has released a new playlist update for Call of Duty: Warzone that removes Scopes and Scatter Guns entirely. The regular Trios mode is back in Call of Duty: Warzone, alongside Solos and Quads. Unfortunately, Warzone Duos is still nowhere to be found at the time of this writing.

This isn’t the first time that Infinity Ward has come under fire for removing a popular mode in the latest Call of Duty game. Some may recall a similar situation last year when Infinity Ward removed Gunfight and replaced it with a Gunfight variant that wasn’t nearly as popular. There was also the time when Infinity Ward removed the Shoot House 24/7 playlist and replaced it with the Crash 24/7 playlist - a decision that was met with so much outcry that Infinity Ward reversed its decision almost immediately.

It’s unclear why Infinity Ward keeps removing popular modes when trying LTMs. Other games, like Fortnite, don’t do that, and with Warzone having cross-play between PC, PS4, and Xbox One, it’s not like it would be hurting for people to fill up matches if it introduced another mode or two to the game.

In future, it will be interesting to see if Infinity Ward changes up the way it does LTMs in Call of Duty: Warzone. For now, though, fans shouldn’t get too attached to any new modes that are introduced to the battle royale.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
