Reddit user death-gwips’ bad luck was displayed in a clip that they recently posted online. In the clip, death-gwips is fighting a Call of Duty: Warzone enemy that stubbornly won’t get out of one of the game’s vehicles. death-gwips is able to light them up with gunfire pretty much unabated, letting them down the enemy player. Instead of picking them off from afar, death-gwips runs up to their opponent and attempts a Finishing Move melee execution on them while they’re downed.

Unfortunately for death-gwips, they didn’t take into account the damage that they did to the vehicle while their enemy was driving it. The vehicle had actually caught fire from the damage, and death-gwips was standing too close while trying to perform the Finishing Move. The vehicle then exploded, killing death-gwips as well as their downed opponent. It’s unclear if death-gwips was able to go to the Gulag for a chance to rejoin the match or not.

This is far from the first time that we’ve seen a Call of Duty: Warzone or Modern Warfare Finishing Move go wrong. Another popular clip shows a Modern Warfare Finishing Move on the Rust map go haywire when the player performing the move is sniped while they’re in the middle of the animation. And there are also a variety of clips online showing players get kicked out of their Finishing Move animations due to technical errors.

In the meantime, fans can expect Infinity Ward to keep adding new Finishing Move melee executions to Call of Duty: Warzone moving forward, as they appear to be pretty popular. Besides melee executions, fans can also look forward to new multiplayer operators being added to the game, along with special cosmetic bundles, like the recently released Anime Express bundle, for instance.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
