Opening Bunker 11 in Call of Duty: Warzone is a multi-step process, whereas opening the other bunkers in the game merely require a keycard. Once players manage to get inside Bunker 11, they will find a nuclear warhead, and while that could just be for decoration, in actuality, it will supposedly be what triggers a major map change. This is according to VGC, citing sources close to Warzone, though details on how the map will change exactly have not been revealed.

It’s possible that the potential nuclear explosion in Call of Duty: Warzone will have something to do with the Black Ops Cold War teases that fans think will be happening in the game. For the uninitiated, there is evidence to suggest that Activision will be utilizing Warzone to reveal Black Ops Cold War, the rumored title of the upcoming Call of Duty 2020.

Not only have leakers said that Call of Duty: Warzone will be used to tease and reveal Black Ops Cold War, but there is some datamined evidence that points in that direction as well. Dataminers dug through the most recent Call of Duty: Warzone update and found files referencing RC-XD, a killstreak from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, as well as a Cold War-era spy plane. While it’s certainly possible Activision will go in a different direction, all signs are pointing to these leaks and rumors being correct.

While Call of Duty: Warzone may have launched as part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it makes sense for Activision to use it to promote the next game in its long-running series. For one, Call of Duty: Warzone is immensely popular, and so this is a great way to advertise the game. And secondly, Infinity Ward has said that Call of Duty: Warzone will be a constant, even as new Call of Duty games are launched, so that means it will one day be a part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well.

Activision usually reveals new Call of Duty games in May or June every year, so an official reveal of the rumored Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War should come sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
