Usually, Call of Duty: Warzone feedback focuses on larger facets of the game. Players call for more or less vehicles, playlists that they want to see return or become permanent, and reworks that they want for certain equipment pieces. Focusing on the HUD happens much less often, though given how important it is to the experience of a first-person shooter, it is absolutely something that is worth highlighting. Redditor Sunny16 has done just that, pushing for a small-but-meaningful HUD change that would impact squad play.

Why Call of Duty: Warzone Players Want Name Colors To Become Consistent

According to Sunny16, Call of Duty: Warzone players should maintain their colors across several matches, as it would help make communication significantly easier. This is because pings are tied to a teammate’s color, meaning a player with a purple name will have a purple ping. While this is useful for one match at a time, the feature is significantly less helpful due to the colors changing every match. If a player is purple one game, they may not be purple the next, meaning that gamers need to memorize different teammate colors each time they load into a new game.

If Sunny16 and those that upvoted the Reddit post had their way, player color would be permanent across every match for an entire session. It would only change when players exit the lobby and restart their group, meaning that those that play several games in a row could get used to their teammates’ colors. While this change would not impact fans of Call of Duty: Warzone’s solo playlists, it would be a solid change for those that spend several hours playing with friends.

The Reddit post also suggested some changes for voice chat in the popular battle royale title, though it ultimately came back to colored names. According to Sunny16, the change could be made even better by allowing players’ name colors in the menu to carry over to their matches. This way, before players drop into Caldera or Rebirth Island, they would know what color pings to associate with their teammates. Not having to figure this out at the start of every match would be helpful, but being able to learn the colors in the lobby would be even better.

It remains to be seen if Raven Software will acknowledge this request, though it could be a potential improvement made with Call of Duty: Warzone 2. For now, all fans can do is continue to push for name color adjustments.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
