After installing the update, many players have experienced a weapon swap that causes a very distracting bug. On several occasions, players attempt to swap weapons only to have the weapon replaced with a screen full of random textures. Gun bugs are nothing new to Call of Duty: Warzone, but this one is sure to surprise players.

One player fell victim to the bug while in the middle of a Gulag match and was able to share a clip of it. Reddit user “Jahaziel_22” attempted to swap to the HDR sniper while facing off in the Gulag, only to find himself holding an odd bundle of random textures. The player was able to aim down sight even though there was no scope, and appeared to have fired a shot before being eliminated.

The HDR is one of the new available weapons in the Gulag and received a buff for the update, so it may be more susceptible to a weapon bug. However, players have been reporting also finding the random textures at different points in the Warzone map. Players also have said that these objects have collision, so a fix for the random textures should be addressed soon.

Many fans were hoping for the Stadium to open for the mid-season update, but were given a strange texture glitch instead. It is not surprising that new weapons are affected with the update, because there is usually some problems to work out when adding the new content. However, a glitch like this can ruin a player’s experience, especially if it happens in a late-game situation or in the Gulag.

Players are still getting used to the new update and making changes to loadouts to adapt. Many are changing strategies in Gulag matches based on the new weapons available. Hopefully, players will not also have to get used to the newest weapon swap glitch.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
