This is hardly the first issue tied to the Caldera Gulag, as the area has not been working as intended thus far. Some players have been randomly sent to the Gulag when running around Caldera, while others have dealt with bugs inside the actual arena. One such bug makes Call of Duty: Warzone guns invisible, giving those unlucky enough to run into it little chance of winning their fight. Now, yet another Gulag bug has been found, and this time it punishes players that do too well.

The Call of Duty: Warzone bug in question was captured on video by Reddit user PinkyLyfe69. It begins like any other Gulag round, with players able to fight as soon as the countdown timer reaches zero. Once it does, PinkyLyfe69 begins rushing to their opponent’s spawn, slide canceling along the way so that they can get there as soon as possible. They reach the spawn before the enemy even has a chance to move, dropping their foe with a headshot and earning their way back into the match.

However, the Call of Duty: Warzone player never actually starts dropping back into Caldera. Instead, after their screen goes black, they instantly see their placement in the match and get the option to find a new game. Butcher the announcer is heard talking twice in a row, telling the player that they should get back into the fight before saying that they got hit hard. No explanation is given for the random death, with the player being left just as confused as those that watch the footage of the incident.

On the bright side, the player seems to be taking the random death well, joking that a “fairness mechanic” was added to hold back gamers who do too well in the Gulag. The comments on the Call of Duty: Warzone video features similar jokes, like cheap-beers pointing out the player’s movement style, though it also had some commenters complaining that yet another bug is plaguing the game. While this issue may be funny as a one-off occurrence, it could easily happen to more players, making it harmful to the overall Call of Duty: Warzone experience.

With so many bugs being discovered lately, hopefully Raven Software can get some patches out soon that address the problems gamers are having. In its current state, other players do not seem to be the most dangerous thing about Caldera’s Gulag.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
