Whether the Gulag is made in Minecraft, drawn in a different style, or created using LEGOs, the core concept stays the same. Choosing any of the three variants, fans must enter the forgotten prison showers and prepare to earn their respawn and reenter the battle.

The recreation that has caught fan attention this time is a Fortnite version of the infamous Gulag. Using the Fortnite engine a player has recreated a detailed version of the Gulag map. The designer chose to use all three versions creating a cycling map that changes. Although this representation of the Gulag is missing its flag, players can still enjoy a fulfilling one on one experience in the Fortnite world.

Although the fan-made Gulag will not grant players an extra life, it does provide the same fun as the original small map experience. This provides short bursts of action with a limited weapon selection. Fans that want to get involved only need comment on the post or access the code found in the comments section.

The Fortnite community has discussed the possibilities of a Gulag feature in their battle royale. Some fans believe that it could be accomplished with an isolated island or an underground arena. The concept would stay the same, players must fight in sets of two for another chance at deployment. Hopefully, a Fortnite version will have fewer bugs then Warzone’s Gulag.

Whether or not Fortnite steals the Gulag idea, fans will at least get a simulated feeling in this fan-made version. The constant fan recreations goes to show the love and admiration that the Warzone community has for the Gulag system. Although the developers have made questionable updates, like adding sniper rifles to the Gulag, fans continue to be dedicated to the one on one battle experience.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
