For those who may not know, Call of Duty: Warzone players are given a chance to rejoin the battle royale match after they die by winning a 1v1 Gulag fight under Gunfight rules. This feature has been highly praised, but it becomes a bit of a problem late in the match when gas is covering most of the map. When winning a late game Gulag match, some Warzone players have found themselves respawning in the gas, causing them to die almost instantly.

This issue was documented by Call of Duty: Warzone player and Reddit user on-my-mobile, who shared a clip of them respawning in the gas. They seem to take damage before the screen even goes from black to the action, as coughing can clearly be heard. Unfortunately, they have no chance of getting back to the safety of the circle before the gas wipes them out.
This is obviously not by design as it would completely defeat the point of the Gulag. Considering this, it seems more likely than not that Infinity Ward will address this issue at some point in a future update.
While Infinity Ward is likely to change this particular aspect of the Gulag, other quirks of the feature are likely to stay the same. For example, players have discovered that they can use rocks to blow up claymores and other explosives, potentially killing both Gulag participants and kicking them both out of the game. Some have found this frustrating, but Infinity Ward gave Gulag spectators rocks on purpose, likely so they can interact with the matches just like this.
Other aspects of Warzone that some fans have complained about may be changed, however. Some fans dislike that players can get killed before even landing on the Warzone map, and it’s possible that Infinity Ward will make it impossible for players to use their pistol until their feet have touched the ground. Then again, Infinity Ward may keep this in the game. Fans will just need to keep an eye on patch notes in the coming weeks.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
