This Call of Duty: Warzone glitch was reported by Redditor LilCapped, but a few others on the thread claim that the same thing has happened to them. At the moment it isn’t entirely clear what caused this, and the cases are few enough that it is unlikely to be looked into.

When compared to other glitches found, like the one that instantly downs a player for using a heartbeat sensor, this one is pretty tame. Though mostly a visual effect, playing in affected areas can be very difficult, so it will affect players’ games in that manner.
Please note that the following video has some offensive language.
Regarding why the glitch happened, there is a general consensus that it is caused by a failing GPU, but the evidence for this is mixed. On the one hand, the glitch has only been reported by PC users, and some have said that after something like this happened their GPU failed completely shortly thereafter. On the other hand, other users seem confident that their GPUs are fine, with some saying it has happened on brand new computers. Additionally, there are a handful of other graphical glitches in Warzone, so it wouldn’t be too hard to believe that this is just part of the game code.
As far as how to fix it, there isn’t anything players can do except finish the match. By all accounts, the glitch only lasts the duration of one match, as no one has reported it happening twice in a row. Since the cause of the glitch is unknown, there isn’t much players can do to avoid it either.
The bizarre lights show has some players asking for a night time Verdansk map in Call of Duty: Warzone, complete with actual neon lights on buildings and such. This would provide an interesting challenge to players, as certain areas would likely be completely dark, while others would be much more well lit. Other Redditors joke that this is hinting at a live concert in Warzone similar to the Travis Scott concert from Fortnite, but these are of course not serious comments.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
