Taking to social media, Infinity Ward confirmed that the planned Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare update for March 24 has been delayed. Infinity Ward didn’t offer any explanation as to why the update was delayed, and it also stopped short of providing fans with a new date. However, it did say that the new Warzone and Modern Warfare update will be released “in the coming days,” so fans should still be able to expect it at some point later this week.

Fans were understandably excited for the Call of Duty: Warzone March 24 update, as it was set to add four new weapons to the battle royale. This included the controversial 725 shotgun, and it would have been interesting to see how fans of the game reacted to it, as Infinity Ward has struggled to properly balance the gun since launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players had even more to look forward to than Warzone fans. The Khandor Hideout multiplayer map was going to be added in the March 24 update, on top of new playlists and new playable character Talon.

As far as Modern Warfare multiplayer Operators go, Talon sounds a bit more interesting than most. When Modern Warfare players add Talon to their roster, they will also get his canine companion Sasquatch as well. Sasquatch won’t give Talon an unfair advantage over the competition or anything like that, but the dog will be featured in Talon’s Finishing Move, which has yet to be revealed at the time of this writing.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen what new playlists will be coming with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update, but fans will no doubt be hoping for the return of small map playlists. Small map playlists have been hugely popular in Modern Warfare since the introduction of Shoot House 24/7 months ago, and so many fans are anxious for their return. We’ll have more details once the new Modern Warfare update launches at some point in the coming days.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
