In the lead-up to the launch of Caldera, a map set on a stunning Pacific Island, Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software has released several screenshots that give fans a close look at the map’s aesthetic and some of its many points of interest. For those who have not yet given Caldera a close look, or those who want to see as much of the map as they can before release, looking through all the official images should prove worthwhile.

Screenshots Of Caldera’s Environments
A good chunk of the official Caldera screenshots take a look at the map’s unique environments. While players have grown accustomed to the massive city of Verdansk and its modern attractions like a stadium and hospital, Caldera limits technological advancements a fair bit. Outside of a resort, city strip, and some village huts, players will be traversing a lot of areas that have older structures and more nature-focused attractions.
Caldera features some visually impressive beaches and cave systems, with a volcano also included as part of the map. Long winding roads can be seen as well as some military bases and hangers. Some ancient ruins have been showcased, with a lighthouse featuring as well. Other locations include a beachhead, terminal, and submarine pen, all of which offer a different set of buildings and environments to fight through. The map seems to feature a fair bit of verticality despite its lack of skyscrapers, which should ensure some varied matches and opportunities for players to get a tactical advantage.
Screenshots Of Caldera’s Gameplay
While most of the Caldera screenshots have focused on showcasing the map’s environments, a few images have highlighted gameplay. One such photo includes a shot of some Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators fighting through the river village point of interest, giving players an idea of how some combat scenarios could end up looking in the live game.
Two more screenshots focus on dogfighting, a mechanic that is entirely new to Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific. Call of Duty: Warzone’s planes will allow players to fight one another in the sky, and it will be interesting to see how much damage they can do to those on the ground. AA trucks will also be introduced, allowing players to shoot down any pilots that are proving to be a nuisance.
One final screenshot shows Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Arthur Kingsley fighting alongside Frank Woods from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Captain Price from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The image makes it clear to players that their cosmetics from the past two games will be entirely usable in Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific, with the game featuring a massive lineup of old and new content. With Caldera set to launch on December 9 - December 8 for Call of Duty: Vanguard owners due to early access - the wait for a new map is almost over.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
