Activision has added a brand new armor item to Call of Duty: Warzone called the Armor Satchel. This item will allow players to hold 8 armor plates, instead of the standard 5.

In battle royale and Plunder, players have 100 health by default. However, they can attach armor plates to give themselves more protection. Each plate gives the player an additional 50 health in Warzone. The maximum amount of armor a player can put on is three, for a grand total of 250 health (base health of 100 plus 150 armor plate protection).

Looting for additional armor plates is one of the keys to success in Warzone, as players who have extra armor plates in their inventory can easily put some more plates on and get back into the battle after they’ve taken a few shots. In the past, the maximum amount of plates someone can hold was 5, however, the new Armor Satchel allows players to hold up to eight armor plates, which is huge, especially in end-game scenarios.

A few important things to note about the new Armor Satchel is that players do not magically receive more armor plates upon finding the Armor Satchel, as they will still need to loot for more plates. It would be the equivalent of finding a bigger backpack in games like Apex Legends and PUBG, battle royales that Warzone stacks up to quite well.

Additionally, when players complete the Scavenger contract they will now receive the Armor Satchel instead of Gas Masks. In the past, the Gas Mask was the guaranteed item, but that has changed to the Armor Satchel. The Gas Mask, which has an animation that can be avoided with a sneaky trick, is still something that can be found in the wild and purchased at Buy Stations. Armor Satchels must be either found in the wild, looted off of dead bodies, or collected from the Scavenger contracts, meaning they aren’t in Buy Stations.

The new patch is filled with cool content across the board, but the update can be tricky to download and is quite large, so players would be wise to jump on it soon so they can start tinkering around with the Armor Satchels and the other new toys.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
