Activision wants to usher in a new era for Call of Duty when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 releases. Both games utilize a new, unified engine that future Call of Duty games will use, and the franchise returns to Steam with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Both of the new titles will use Ricochet Anti-Cheat to combat game cheaters and cheat software. Additionally, an all-new Call of Duty: Warzone mobile experience is in development, allowing players to take Warzone on the go for the first time.

Activision Blizzard’s financial results reveal Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is still planned to release this year as an extension of the Modern Warfare universe. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be the most ambitious rollout in the franchise’s history according to Activision, and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be integrated with the premium title. A specific launch date for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was not confirmed by Activision, but the company says its development teams are well positioned to support all three launches.

“Activision’s expanded studios also continue to make strong progress on an innovative mobile experience that will extend Warzone to the largest and fastest growing platform,” said Activision. “Across the Call of Duty ecosystem, the teams are well positioned to support these launches with substantial live operations while also continuing development of new premium content planned for 2023 and beyond.”

Activision’s financial results reassures fans concerned about the releases of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2. Each development team appears to have ample time and resources to prepare for each launch, and they should be ready to work on updates and patches when necessary. Although new details about Call of Duty: Warzone 2 were not revealed, Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 is coming soon with new content. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s release date remains the same, which implies Activision is confident in the game’s launch.

However, Activision still has issues to address such as bugs and cheaters in the original Warzone. A smooth transition to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will boost the confidence of the player base once the game arrives.
