When it comes to making these kinds of plays in shooters, such as the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone mobile port, it takes a bit of skill, timing, and sometimes luck. It can be getting the last kill with a well-placed headshot, throwing a grenade across a map and getting a kill off of it, or taking out an enemy in an unconventional way. This includes destroying an enemy with their own grenade.

A Redditor going by the handle RuggedTheDragon pulls off an epic play of their own in Call of Duty: Vanguard. On the Gondola map, RuggedTheDragon earns the kill by throwing an opponent’s grenade back at them. The clip is short, but demonstrates the gamer’s quick thought process as they return the explosive back to its owner.

In the clip, RuggedTheDragon exits a building only to have a grenade thrown at them from an enemy riding a gondola. They quickly turn to the enemy and begin firing, only to pick up the grenade and throw it back at the gondola. The grenade explodes, earning RuggedTheDragon the kill, which happens to be their first of the match. It is a good demonstration of skill and timing in Call of Duty, netting the gamer an impressive kill.

Many commenting on the clip commend RuggedTheDragon on his etiquette. They jokingly state that the player demonstrates good manners and that they act like a gentleman. A few players seem to show surprise that the Gondola map is still even being played in Call of Duty: Vanguard. One gamer states that they have not played the map in quite some time and that they were unsure whether they were happy or sad over the fact. As Call of Duty: Vanguard has not been received very well among fans of the series, it is no surprise that some maps are not well liked.

Recent rumors were hinting that Call of Duty: Vanguard would be supported through 2023, though a statement from Activision seems to refute the claim that there will be no new Call of Duty next year. The publisher states that it has an exciting slate of content coming this year, next year, and beyond for the shooting franchise. While the statement does not straight out refute the claim that the shooter will be taking a break in 2023, it does not give any sort of specifics as to what players can expect from the franchise in the future. Only time will tell if gamers can continue to expect great execution from players such as RuggedTheDragon in a new Call of Duty next year.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
