Ever since Infinity Ward laid out the roadmap for Season 3, fans have known that the next Gunfight map, Aisle 9, would come to Modern Warfare during the season. With the release of the game’s latest update this week, the map will soon be open for players hungry for a fresh close-quarters experience.

Activision announced this with a screenshot showing a truck inside a warehouse, suggesting Aisle 9 will essentially function as a Gunfight version of Atlas Superstore. The map will be available in its own unique 3v3 playlist called “Clean Up on Aisle 9,” which will host Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Grind, and Domination to provide players with “multiple ways to fight on this small map.”
It was also confirmed that Aisle 9 will also be available in the regular Gunfight map rotation for players who’d rather stick to the standard mode. Either way, Gunfight fans now have even more options in addition to the Knives Only mode that was added to the game recently.
Aisle 9 isn’t the only map that’s being added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare today. Along with it, Infinity Ward will introduce Hardhat, a map from 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 that will be available in its own 24/7 playlist starting this week. Like Aisle 9, Hardhat will lean more towards close-quarters combat, but will be large enough to support a wider range of loadouts.
These maps should definitely help keep players entertained throughout the remainder of Season 3, and it’s likely they won’t have to wait too long for new ones to come with the arrival of Season 4. As of this writing, though, Activision has yet to tease what those could be, so for now one can only guess which maps will be added in Season 4.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
