Last week, dataminers found evidence that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 start date was June 10, and now there’s even more evidence that’s the case. More datamined Modern Warfare files have shown that the Season 3 challenges end date has been changed from June 2 to June 10, indicating that Season 3 is at least coming to an end on that day. Since Season 4 was supposed to start on a Wednesday and was already pushed back, this could mean that Season 4 will start immediately after Season 3 ends. However, it’s also possible that fans will have to wait until June 11 to try the new content.

If the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 release date is later this week, then fans shouldn’t have to wait long at all to find out more. Activision usually releases a “This Week in Call of Duty” blog post on Mondays that details what fans can expect from the next update. Assuming it sticks to the pattern, it’s possible that fans will have an official Modern Warfare Season 4 start date within a matter of hours.

Hopefully this comes with some more details on what fans can actually expect from Modern Warfare Season 4 in terms of new content. So far, Infinity Ward and Activision have kept their plans mostly under-wraps, beyond the fact that Modern Warfare Season 4 will see the return of Captain Price as a playable character in multiplayer and the Warzone battle royale.

It’s also unclear what Season 4 will mean for Warzone. There are some that believe that Warzone Season 4 will come with a significant map change, with the most popular theory being that the Dam location will be destroyed by missiles. Whether or not that actually takes place remains to be seen, but it is common for battle royale games to use new seasons to drastically change the map in an effort to keep things fresh.

While it’s certainly possible that Call of Duty fans will find out more about Modern Warfare Season 4 this week, it’s also possible that the release date will be pushed back again in support of Black Lives Matter, so they should keep that in mind as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
