Some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans have been examining the Season 4 art closely and think they can see the classic Modern Warfare 2 map Scrapyard within the words “Season Four.” This could very well be an indication that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 will be adding Scrapyard when the update goes live on June 3, and if so, it wouldn’t be all that surprising since the map already exists in the game.

Those that play the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops mission Operation Crosswind will note that it features the Scrapyard map, and Scrapyard can also be found on the Warzone battle royale map. Since Infinity Ward has already built the assets for Scrapyard in other game modes, it’s a bit surprising that Scrapyard didn’t make its way to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare a bit sooner.

Whether or not Scrapyard actually comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as a standard multiplayer map remains to be seen, but it would make sense. After all, Infinity Ward has released a number of other classic Call of Duty maps for Modern Warfare, with the MW3 map Hardhat being the most recent. There’s no indication that it will stop now, and there are a number of fan favorite Call of Duty maps that fans would be happy to see in the new game.

Besides Scrapyard, many fans have been hoping for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to add other classic MW2 multiplayer maps like Estate and Terminal. This is especially so after Infinity Ward released the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster without any multiplayer component.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
