Over on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare subreddit, one user noticed the recently added feature and made sure to broadcast it for everyone. When inside of the multiplayer weapons menus, the lower left hand corner now has a specific button press to remove all of the flashing green dot icons indicating something is new. For example, PlayStation 4 players simply need to click the left stick for the flashing green dots to finally go away.

The green dot bug first manifested itself in February following a game update. Originally added as a way to let the player know that they’ve unlocked something new, the issue appeared when players couldn’t get the constant flashing symbols to go away, even after visiting the new item from the menus. While not game breaking in any way, the glitch no doubt frustrated and annoyed many players who wanted to remove the notifications. Thankfully, Infinity Ward art director Joel Emslie was quick to jump into the comments section to let people know the team was investigating the issue.
Thankfully, this latest addition lets players simply remove all flashing green dots rather than having to go to each newly unlocked item in the menus and manually highlight them. The responses to the feature post show that the issue impacted a lot of players, the majority of which are thrilled to finally bit rid of the flashing green dots.
In addition to finally fixing the annoying green dots in the menu system, the season 3 update also corrects more than a few lingering issues with the game. In addition to audio volume adjustments, the St. Petrograd map had a collision issue fixed to prevent drones from flying out of bounds, various graphical corruptions like the black shadow are now fixed, and a great deal of weapon related fixes have also been applied including a reduction of the spread when using ADS for slug shotguns.
