Some of this new content will come to both games the same week as Season Three’s launch, while the rest of it is supposed to be added sometime during the season’s run. Activision’s blog more heavily outlines the content coming during the season’s first week, while post-launch content is detailed a bit less.

This week, Modern Warfare and Warzone will be receiving two new weapons, an operator, three multiplayer maps, various skins for customizing vehicles, and a game mode specifically for Warzone. The operator is Alex, as featured in Modern Warfare’s campaign, and the weapons are a semi-automatic SKS rifle and a pistol called the Renetti.

The new maps are Aniyah Incursion, a smaller version of the Ground War map Aniyah Palace, Hovec Sawmill, an original map set in a small village, and Talsik Backlot, a rendition of the original Modern Warfare’s Backlot. The Warzone game mode is Quads, adding one player to each squad, which would usually be comprised of three players.

What’s coming later in the season is more speculative, however. For example, two new operators, Ronin and Iskra, will be added later, though most of what’s currently known about them are their factions– Warcom and Chimera respectively– and that Ronin specializes in many different forms of warfare. In addition, it’s currently unknown how the future modes Gun Game Reloaded and Reinfected Ground War will differ from their original counterparts, Gun Game and Infected Ground War.

The upcoming maps are Hardhat, likely a remake of the Modern Warfare 3 map of the same name, and Aisle 9, a Gunfight map seemingly set inside of Atlas Superstore. New customization options for Gunsmith are also on the way, along with a new classified light machine gun which appears to be based on the M249 SAW. Warzone will also later get a mode called Scopes and Scatter Guns, which will only feature sniper rifles and shotguns.

The road map ends with “and more!” For now, it seems players will have to wait to find out what the “more” that’s coming later in the season is.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
