The Call of Duty franchise began in 2003 and quickly became one of the most successful first-person shooter franchises ever through its solid mechanics, and later its online gameplay. While most players have been impressed with the quality of Modern Warfare, and feel it has continued the Call of Duty series well, exclusive content for particular consoles has been an annoying factor for many. The latest content that is only available on the PlayStation won’t impact the game too much, but players on other consoles may be disgruntled by the fact that it is not freely available to them too.

The free bundle, called the “Combat Pack”, for PlayStation Plus users has a focus on accessories and includes an animated calling card, an epic operator skin, and spray. This exclusive content is set to remain on only PlayStation Plus until October 1st of this year. There have been previous complaints about Modern Warfare game modes being exclusive to the PlayStation 4. While this may not be as big of a feature to miss, some will like to have an equal distribution of content and maybe put off the title. The full list of PlayStation Plus content is below.

These features shouldn’t set PlayStation players apart but it will likely irritate players who have invested in the game on other platforms. There is plenty of content coming to Modern Warfare in Season 3 and it will be interesting to see if exclusives continue to be part of the roadmap for the title. Despite this kind of content, players have been largely impressed with the content that the developer of the game, Infinity Ward, have been providing in high frequency.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has largely managed to please fans and this looks set to continue with its additional content and updates. Unfortunately for some players, there does seem to be a favored console for the developer and with that in mind, some cosmetic packs may continue to be delivered exclusively to PlayStation players.
