Perhaps the biggest complaint against Weapon Charms is how they unnecessarily seem to fluff up microtransactions, as players who do elect to spend money are more likely to get a new Weapon Charm as opposed to something of more value. On the other hand, there are a few CoD fans who do seem excited to see customization returning and even asking for the return of sticks in CoD: Modern Warfare.
Regardless, the inclusion of Weapon Charms doesn’t seem likely to hurt the overall hype train surrounding the title, and it’s worth noting that devs have talked microtransactions and loot boxes in Modern Warfare before. So, as long as Infinity Ward keeps its word, it doesn’t seem like something that will be a big deal.
