Many players will be familiar with the Gunfight Blueprints format, which involves a 2v2 battle and a rotation of guns and equipment that both teams of players must use to fight. Players’ loadouts change every two rounds and the first to win six rounds is declared the winning team. In the Gunfight Tournaments playlist, teams need to win four Gunfight Blueprints games in a row to be crowned as champion and reap the rewards. Maps include Aisle 9, Bazaar, Pine, Shipment, Speedball, Docks, Stack, and the newly added Trench map, which features a hidden easter egg.

As teams of two progress through the four rounds of a Gunfight Tournament, they will collect rewards for each round they win. Updated rewards include the rare “Bogeyman” spray, rare “Pillbox Pin-Up” emblem, epic “Let It Slide” calling card, and the grand prize epic “Grail Quest” M4A1 blueprint. All of these rewards are coupled with XP bonuses as well, 500, 1000, 2000, and 5000 for the respectable rounds of the tournament. Players will be hungry to win the whole tournament and secure the top prize due to the tremendous popularity of the M4A1 assault rifle in the game.

Players can enter Gunfight Tournaments by simply selecting the Tournament playlist in multiplayer and signing up. The registration cutoff cycles every five minutes on the playlist, so some players may have to wait a bit longer than normal for the matchmaking to take place. Once matchmaking is complete, players will see a bracket-style tournament layout and the different teams in the competition. After that, players launch into their first game. Make sure not to back out of a tournament early as there is a matchmaking penalty for doing so.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight Tournaments is sure to be a big hit due to the Gunfight Blueprints playlist being so popular. The real question is how long players will have access to the tournaments playlist. Previously, players were only able to enjoy Gunfight Tournaments for short periods of time. Hopefully players will see Gunfight Tournaments stick around for a longer stint this time, allowing more people the opportunity to collect the winnable rewards.

Nevertheless, the regular Gunfight Blueprints playlist looks set to stay in multiplayer. Players that enjoy the 2v2 tactical gameplay and smaller maps can have peace of mind knowing that the game mode has been available for awhile now. Blueprints used in matches are updated frequently, but there could even still be some bigger updates and additions to Gunfight as Season 4 progresses.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
