With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 5 only two weeks away players are getting more curious about what is to be added to the game. Fans are left speculating upcoming content for both the Multiplayer and Warzone game modes with little information confirmed by Activision.

The map’s name is Cornfield and it was hidden in the PC files of Modern Warfare, with the small-medium sized map seemingly being used in Mosh Pit and Gunfight game modes. This is similar to the Trench and Aisle 9’s debut back in Season 3’s launch as they will test player’s skill at tactical combat in small maps.
The image circulating around is similar to other map teasers as it gives only a general impression of what is to come. The well nurtured rows of plants give the idea that this “Cornfield” is well taken care of. Players can expect barrels, tractors, and other work equipment for cover alongside the farm and Cornfield aspects of the map. It will be interesting to see how players learn to master and dominate a new Modern Warfare map this late in the game’s development.
It will be interesting to see what Easter eggs the developers hide in a Cornfield map. In the past, the developers have hidden IT Easter Eggs in maps. With a cornfield to work with players might get to experience Children of the Corn, Scarecrow or other wonderful Cornfield themed surprises.
As more information about Season 5 is released fans will have a better idea of what to expect from this map. For now, the teaser image gives a good idea of close corners, open middle sections, and fast-paced engagements. It might be a good idea to prepare shotgun or SMG loadouts before entering the Cornfield for a better chance at dominating the battlefield.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
