The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare SBMM compromise suggested by Reddit user HighRoLa_ is a simple one, but it makes a lot of sense. They recommend that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare changes its playlists to include a regular Quick Play that doesn’t include SBMM, along with a Ranked version of Quick Play that does include SBMM. HighRoLa_’s post about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare SBMM has nearly 26,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, so it’s clear that the community agrees with their suggestion.

Infinity Ward has so far been fairly quick to respond to fan feedback in regards to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its playlists, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the studio embrace such a popular idea. Previously, Infinity Ward changed the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer playlists to allow fans to select whether they wanted to play on smaller maps or larger maps, which was a change that was largely welcomed by the community.
If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does make a change to its Skill Based Matchmaking, it’s unclear when such an update could come. Details on the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update in general are pretty scarce, though we do know that it will be dropping sometime this week.
It’s possible that the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update will address some of the game’s ongoing issues, like the overpowered 725 shotgun. It may also add some new content, though that remains to be seen. In the meantime, those upset about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare SBMM can keep their fingers crossed that Infinity Ward will address the issue sooner rather than later.
