Specifically, a new Gunfight mode called Snowfight will debut tomorrow, December 24, at 10am PST, and it will give Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players the chance to celebrate the holiday season in-game. This festive Gunfight variant will be playable exclusively on the CoD: MW Winter Docks map, which was added in the aforementioned update, and it will bring a humorous twist to the popular 2v2 mode.

Namely, the only weapons that will be available to players in Snowfight are snowballs, which means that fans will not be able to use their favorite guns to eliminate opponents in this seasonal game mode. While Infinity Ward has not fully detailed how Snowfight will work, there are currently snowball fights in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which manifest as warm-up rounds that precede traditional Gunfight matches, and it is likely that Snowfight will simply be an expanded version of that offering.
If this proves to be accurate, Snowfight will function similarly to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Gunfight OSP mode, where players must locate their weapons throughout the map. The difference would be that, instead of guns, players would be picking up snowballs in Snowfight, and the specifics of this game mode will be definitively confirmed when it launches tomorrow morning.
With respect to how long players will have access to Snowfight in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision indicates that it will be available until December 31 at 10am PST, which means that players will have exactly one week to enjoy these extremely deadly snowball fights. That said, even more new CoD: MW Season One content is expected to arrive in the upcoming weeks, and only time will tell what game mode will ultimately replace this silly Gunfight variant.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
