The frustration stems from the fact that Modern Warfare players would like to have more variety when it comes to selecting a class and do not want to stop in the middle of a game in order to adjust their class to suit the situation. Luckily, the co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, Joe Cecot, has addressed the issue when responding to a fan on Twitter.

When asked when players will be getting extra class slots, Cecot responded by saying that he cannot give an exact date but to look forward to it coming out in January. This would mean that players will not have to wait to switch loadouts when a bad multiplayer map comes up on the rotation.
Create-A-Class slots used to be offered as rewards for entering prestige levels, which is when players would get to the current max level and reset to level one, earning a prestige icon beside their name and an extra class slot. With the removal of the prestige system and the implementation of seasonal ranks, players are left with no way of earning additional class slots.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has done well in terms of refreshing how Create-A-Class works and feels while adding depth to the customization of weapons. The system even allows for players to create their own weapon variants and save them to use and switch to whenever they want. With Cecot and his transparency, players can wonder what new Modern Warfare content and changes will be added throughout the following seasons of Modern Warfare 2019.
The changes coming to the system should improve the feel and lessen the frustration of how combat flows and can incentivize switching off to another class if the current class is not working out so well. With more slots, players will feel that there is less of a need to restructure one of their favorite classes in order to properly engage with the enemy team and their choice of loadout.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 is out now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
