Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is frequently updated with new content such as maps, weapons, game modes, and operators, and all of this is showcased in Activision’s weekly briefing. The Hydra Slayer bundle got a bit of a spotlight in this week’s briefing, as it may be a game changer for some.

Though weapon choice is very important in games like Call of Duty, victory is ultimately determined by skill and reaction time. Professional players like NICKMERCS often swear by weapons that have great accuracy, range, and stability, as these are less likely to impede on their own talents as marksmen.
The new weapons in question are the Spirit of the Beast assault rifle and the Soul of the Beast submachine gun. These legendary blueprints thrive in medium to long range encounters, and Activision recommends taking them for a spin in areas with long sightlines such as Warzone, Ground War, or various multiplayer maps. It seems as though it will only be a matter of time before professional Call of Duty players share builds with these impressive weapons that will help players dominate on the battlefield with greater ease. It will be interesting to see what type of customs people can come up with.
Of course, this wasn’t the only standout in the briefing, as Activision also introduced the Party Mode, which features One in the Chamber, Gun Game, and more. 2v2 Gunfight tournaments continue, and new items are available in the store. There has also been yet another playlist update which showcases the fan favorite Shoot House as well as the brand new Cheshire Park map which was added with the Season 4 Reloaded update. Warzone, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Call of Duty League also received mentions and updates, so interested fans should see the full briefing.
Spirit of the Beast and Soul of the Beast are likely to shake up the meta a bit, and following recent nerfs to Assault Rifles and other weapons there is a lot of uncertainty in regards to what the best options are. Players should take the time to research what weapons will best fit their playstyle.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
