Activision has confirmed that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare May 5 playlist update will add Gunfight Knives Only, Demolition, and Gun Game Reloaded playlists. Gunfight Knives Only is self-explanatory; it’s Gunfight with knives. Demolition, meanwhile, is similar to Search and Destroy, but with respawns enabled and some other tweaks to set it apart. Gun Game Reloaded will presumably be the same old Gun Game that fans know and love, but perhaps the “Reloaded” bit means it will come with some of the new weapons that have been added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since the last time it featured the popular game mode.

Before the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare May 5 update, there’s something for fans to look forward to this weekend. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is hosting a Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Tier XP Weekend event from May 1 to May 4. This should go a long way in helping Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players complete their Season 3 Battle Pass if they have yet to do so. It should be noted that these bonuses will also apply to the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale as well.
The addition of these new game modes and the Double XP Weekend to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is no doubt exciting for fans, but there’s even more to look forward to in future updates. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 road map promises more new maps before the season is out, along with at least one more new multiplayer operator. Release details on that content has yet to be announced, but more information will likely come next month.
Infinity Ward has not slowed its support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since the game’s launch next fall, with fans treated to a regular stream of content updates for the game. There are no signs that it plans on stopping any time soon, even amid rumors that Call of Duty: Vietnam will be revealed in May.
Considering the popularity of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Warzone battle royale, it seems like fans can count on the game receiving even longer-term support than is usual for games in the Call of Duty franchise.
Call of Duty: Modern Wafare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
