As shared by TikTok user squaddwipe, Modern Warfare 2 players can adjust their controller settings to help their multiplayer performance. To accomplish this, Modern Warfare 2 players will want to navigate to the controller settings menu, then change Aim Assist Type to Black Ops. They will then want to change Aim Response Curve Type to Dynamic. After this is done, squaddwipe recommends that Modern Warfare 2 players navigate to the Interface menu and turn the Center Dot on.

Squaddwipe isn’t the only content creator that has recommended these Modern Warfare 2 controller settings, and some disagree on certain things that should be tweaked. However, the consensu seems to be that the Aim Response Curve Type should be swapped to dynamic for Modern Warfare 2 console players that want to get a leg-up on the competition. These settings have been compared to an “aimbot” but that is obviously an exaggeration. These settings won’t automatically make Modern Warfare 2 players better at the game, but they could provide an advantage that they didn’t otherwise have.

Adjusting settings in Call of Duty games to improve performance is nothing new, and it’s no surprise that fans are doing it in the newly-released Modern Warfare 2. It’s possible that an even more advantageous set-up will be discovered as Modern Warfare 2 players continue to experiment with the game, and so fans should keep that in mind.
Besides specific controller settings, Modern Warfare 2 players can get an advantage in the game by utilizing the Gunsmith customization features to tweak their weapons. As players unlock more attachments and guns in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, a clear meta should become apparent that will dictate the best weapon set-up in multiplayer. And then when the Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 battle royale launches next month, that should change things even further. Modern Warfare 2 players will want to stay mindful of balance changes and the meta if they want to maximize their potential for success in the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
