This standard is probably not suited for fast-paced gameplay on some of the larger maps available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This can result in a lot of downtime on these maps, which may not be appealing to users who prefer Call of Duty multiplayer matches to be action-packed. Now, one Modern Warfare 2 fan wants Activision to add new playlists that may solve this problem.

A Reddit user wants Activision to add playlists that come with support for 10 or 12 players on each team. They state that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have to rely on two maps, presumably Shipment and Shoot House, for fast-paced combat encounters, so adding these playlists may give gamers more options for action-packed gameplay. The user has also given a more detailed explanation in the post, as they mention that other Call of Duty games have included options for 10v10 or 12v12 matches.
As another example, the player mentions that even Call of Duty: Vanguard allowed fans to select Blitz mode for frantic matches. For those unaware, Vanguard players could choose from three combat pacing modes at launch in Tactical, Assault, and Blitz, with each offering a differently paced gameplay experience to fans.
Blitz appears to be a popular choice, as many users praise the pacing options present in Call of Duty: Vanguard. The Reddit poster wants Activision to add a playlist solely designed around Blitz, while other users state their issues with the large maps present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. One player also claims that Activision seems to be promoting camping in Modern Warfare 2 due to the maps being too big for 6v6 gameplay.
This post may be related to Activision’s decision to remove the Shipment 24/7 playlist from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Due to its tiny size, Shipment lets users instantly get into combat encounters without any downtime, allowing for chaotic and frantic matches that probably aren’t possible in other playlists. It looks like many Modern Warfare 2 fans are missing the Shipment 24/7 playlist, as many have expressed their disappointment at this decision online.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
