Some users consider Farm 18, Taraq, and Crown Raceway to be the best maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with Embassy and Mercado Las Almas also in the running. However, there is likely no consensus on the overall best map in the game, as different players may have particular issues with a given level. Now, one Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fan shares a massive reason for disliking the Taraq map.

A Reddit user named T-King-667 has posted an image from Taraq in Modern Warfare 2, showing that UAVs are difficult to hit on this level. T-King-667 points to the location of the UAV in the picture, confirming that it’s hidden due to the smoke or clouds present on the map. The player mentions that it’s sort of their job to destroy UAVs to prevent enemies from knowing the location of their team, but the weather conditions on Taraq make it incredibly difficult to do so.
According to a Reddit user, the El Asilo map has a similar problem, as the UAV’s flight path makes it harder to hit them even with a locked-on missile. This is supported by another player who claims that some PILA rockets fly past UAVs despite having a lock-on, as fans discuss the inconsistency in the height of UAVs and CUAVs in Modern Warfare 2.
T-King-667 lists the cloud coverage as the biggest reason for disliking the map, but it looks like fan opinions are more diverse. Many users state that they enjoy playing on Taraq, with one claiming that the map has grown on them since Modern Warfare 2’s release. Another user mentions loving bigger, more open, maps in Call of Duty games, so Taraq matches their taste, and one fan states that they love leveling up sniper rifles in Modern Warfare 2 on this level.
These problems may be prominent on specific maps, but Modern Warfare 2 offers a decent amount of variety in terms of map size. Following its launch, Shoot House and Shipment were added to Modern Warfare 2 in Season 1, but both are remakes of older maps. While Shoot House and Shipment are popular, some users likely expected brand-new maps to be added to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer as post-launch content.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
